JLL Capital Markets has announced the sale of 323 West 89th St. for $6.1 million, a seven story townhouse designed and built by renowned architect C.P.H. Gilbert. The building, which is currently a multi-housing complex with 10 units in Manhattan’s West End Historic District, is located just steps away from Riverside Park.

JLL represented a family group that owned the property over 35 years. The building was purchased by a private investor.

The 7,120 square foot property, located between West End Avenue & Riverside Drive is a fully free-market. The apartment is divided into one studio, six one-bedrooms that can be converted, three duplexes and a basement. The three duplex apartments all have outdoor space. Two are located at the penthouse with private roof terraces, and the third has exclusive access to a garden.

The property was built around the turn of 20th century and has been maintained meticulously. It features high ceilings, wood-burning fire places and a variety of museums and cultural experiences. The 323 West 89th St. property is located in one of the most desirable Riverside Park blocks. It has tree-lined streets with cafes and boutiques as well as multiple museums. The 86th Street Subway Station is also a short distance away.

Hall Oster, Managing Director of JLL Capital Markets and Teddy Galligan, Vice President were the leaders of the team.

Galligan said that this was a rare chance for a buyer to purchase prestigious property in one the most sought-after neighborhoods of the city. The property’s close proximity to Riverside Park, and the limited supply of housing in the Upper West Side will support its long-term value.
